Ross and Jennifer Moore, founding members of the CreationTree Fitness Triathlon Team will be traveling from their home in American Fork, UT to Burley, ID this weekend to participate in the First Annual Vikingman Half-Ironman Competition on June 2nd.
A Half-Ironman Competition consists of a 1.2 mile swim, followed by a 56 mile cycle race, and is completed with a 13 mile run.
Jennifer, or "Coach Jenn" as she is known by her teammates is a life-long elite-athlete and former captain of the BYU Women's Swim Team. While having participated in several triathlons and marathons in the past, this will be the longest triathlon Jenn has experienced, and she plans to complete the race in under 6 hours.
Ross is a completely inexperienced new triathlete with only one much shorter triathlon under his belt. Until recently a life-long couch potato, Ross is planning to walk, limp, or even crawl accross the finishline shortly before the maximum time allowed of 8.5 hours expires.
Cheer them on, pray for them, and check back here next week for exciting pictures of Jenn elegantly gliding along the course in her "happy place" and grueling photos of Ross trying to prove something to himself and the world.
